Full Job Description

Join our team and launch your career through a 12-month hands-on training program designed to build expertise in equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, related Commonwealth policy, and internal complaint investigations. In this role, you will assist with reviewing and investigating discrimination complaints, supporting interviews and data collection, and helping deliver EEO-related guidance and training across the Commonwealth. Upon successful completion of this 12-month training period, you will be promoted to a Human Resource Analyst 1. Requirements

As an EEO Investigations Trainee, you will actively participate in on-the-job formal training where you will learn how to assist higher-level human resource and EEO professionals with BEEOI functions. Work involves assisting with:

  • Reviewing newly received complaints to determine whether or not the complaints are within the EEO investigative jurisdiction
  • Investigating discrimination complaints
  • Interviewing witnesses
  • Collecting data
  • Preparing reports of findings and recommendations for resolution
  • Explaining procedures for filing internal discrimination complaints to employees and applicants
  • Providing EEO-related training for Commonwealth employees, managers, and supervisors

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
