This position is currently located in Anchorage, but it is being recruited for Statewide and can be relocated depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate.
What you will be doing:
This position will manage the school improvement program, which includes federal grants to districts for the lowest-performing schools in the state, technical assistance for schools in completing school improvement plans, and oversight of the implementation of these plans.
This position will also work with the Empowerment Specialists to provide assistance to the state's lowest-performing schools, designated through the annual accountability as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act.

This position supports School Recognition and Improvement efforts across the state including the coordination of the Alaska Teacher of the Year and Milken recognition programs.
The working environment you can expect:
The role operates in a primarily telework environment, with daily collaboration within the School Recognition and support team as well as across DEED IEE teams through virtual communication tools.
While most duties can be performed remotely, periodic in-person attendance is required to support key meetings, team activities, and mission needs.
