Full Job Description

DSHS Lakeland Village Dietitian


Lakeland Village is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team of professionals who provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At Lakeland Village, our direct care and support staff provide 24-hour nursing care, a full spectrum of clinical and therapeutic programs, and recreation/activities to empower our residents. You will impact our residents through performing professional -level Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) which includes nutritional assessments, nutrition counseling, development of therapeutic plans, and nutrition education. This is an opportunity to utilize multiple clinical skills through communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support the success of our residents.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Instructs and provides quality management oversight for assigned personnel or living units
  • Performs dietitian duties in general including MNT
  • Assess, design interventions, and monitor nutritional progress and goals for population served
  • Prepares specialized and individualized assessments to report on relevant findings and recommended interventions for care optimization
  • Participates in case and care management meetings as appropriate; serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Consults on nutritional care to develop and provide education resources and training
  • Provides nutrition counseling, education, and classes
  • Maintains and updates relevant electronic records
  • Prepares and trains new employees on nutrition related topics and other relevant information in New Employee Orientation (NEO)


Required Qualifications:

A Master's Degree with major in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition or Food Service Administration from an accredited dietetics program.

24 months recent full-time experience as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
