DSHS Fircrest Registered Nurse 2

Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our team in empowering the individuals we serve, with both permanent and on-call positions available.

In this unique role, you'll perform the functions of a Registered Nurse 2 by planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in a Nursing Home setting.

Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Function as the health care coordinator for a living area in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Plan, develop and supervise nursing care for specific clients following the nursing process.
  • Implement the plan of care by direct nursing interventions or supervising and/or instruction other members of the care team.
  • Provide professional consultation and direction to licensed practical nurses and direct care staff.
  • Use client data and nursing principles to develop nursing diagnosis.
  • Document observations, interventions and other pertinent information related to client health.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications/treatments.
  • Starting and maintaining intravenous therapy.
  • Provide campus wide emergency response.
  • Performs and documents schedule Annual and Quarterly professional nursing assessments including the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and the Care Area Assessment (CAA).
In conjunction with and under the supervision of the RN4 will perform nursing quality assurance and QA activities, responsible for ensuring all Registered Nurse 2s adhere to all pertinent documents under DSHS guidelines, that they are up to date with pertinent documents (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and completed in a timely manner. Ensures implementation and documentation of each client’s individual nursing plan, objectives, and services based on an individual habilitation plan.
  • Perform incident/event investigation.
  • Attend scheduled QA and maintain, review, and generate reports from surveillance records.
  • Audit medication records health and nursing documentation for accuracy.
  • To ensure facility regulation is under compliance and support for any future audits and/or surveys.
