Within Eastern State Hospital located in Medical Lake, WA, the Registered Nurse (RN2) under the general direction of a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides training to primarily the nursing staff.
This training is part of new employee orientation/precepting, annual mandatory training and just-in-time training. This training may include BLS, Crisis Intervention and Nursing Skills Fairs.
This position may help audit nursing practices, such as Medication Administration. They may help precept new employees on the ward.
They may also provides professional nursing services including planning, assessing, implementing and evaluating.
On-call employment is to provide employee services and patient care during the hospital’s peak need times (weekends, holidays, and vacation periods)and during need for increased staffing due to census and acuity increased and hospital wide training.
The RN2 position actively supports the ESH Vision, Philosophy, and Mission and delivers care within the framework of the Recovery Model.
Eastern State Hospital hosts both the Eastlake and Westlake campuses. We are a 375-bed in-patient psychiatric hospital serving adults and are accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the federal centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.Precept, mentor, instruct and train direct care nursing staff. Facilitate and monitor precepting for these employees.
Train and instruct content for educational courses to nursing staff and other disciplines throughout the hospital as assigned and as determined by the training needs of each shift and unit.
As assigned, train and instruct during AHNEO, Nursing Orientation, annual in-services, and continuing nursing education.
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history may be conducted.
