This position is part of the Government Secure and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the Documents Inspection Technician, PG -1801-7, you must meet the following requirements: Applicant must have 1 year of specialized experience at the PG-5 grade level (or equivalent) level or higher.
Examples of specialized experience includes: Interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations, and other guideline materials to interpret and classify secure credential defects; inspecting equipment and tools, including barcode equipment; visually inspecting secure credentials for defects; applying basic math to perform measurements and distinguish colors; entering data in an electronic database to record/track findings accurately; experience working in a production environment and/or quality control environment.
OR 1 full year of graduate level education; OR Superior academic achievement- GPA 3.0. OR a combination of education and experience.
The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for the PG-7 grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(02/11/2026) to be considered.
