This position is part of the Government Integrated Print Services, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

To qualify for the Digital Plate Supervisor, KO - 4416 - 00 , you must meet the following requirements: Applicants must meet the following SCREEN OUT/JOB ELEMENT: OPM Qualifications Meet Job Element# 73: Ability To Lead Or Supervise to be considered eligible for the position.

Applicant must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position of a Digital Plate Supervisor.

These duties include: 1. Explaining and ensuring work performed in the section meet required quality levels. 2. Leading crews in completing projects. 3.

Ensuring production schedules are met daily, identifying work plans, appropriate personnel, materials, and equipment. 4. Performing administrative and personnel management functions.

In addition to the requirements above, GPO employees competing under merit promotion procedures must meet all of the following criteria in accordance with the Federal Merit Promotion Plan, GPO Instruction 615.2C (Appendix A) A." Experience requirements for positions up to and including Assistant Foreperson level (or equivalent), applicants must have: (1) completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacant position; and (2) served a minimum of one (1) year in a career or career-conditional appointment in the GPO; or (a) a baccalaureate degree or three (3) years of responsible experience in the printing industry equivalent to, at a minimum, the GPO journeyperson level; and (b) two (2) years of experience in the printing industry of a scope and quality sufficient to carry out the duties of the vacant position.

At least one (1) year of this experience must have been at, or comparable to, the GS-12 level. and B.

For positions at the Foreperson level (or comparable positions), applicants must meet the qualifications listed above for the Assistant Foreperson level and have served at least one (1) year in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (02/05/2026) to be considered.

Major Duties:

  • Supervises and assigns daily production tasks, including file maintenance, low-resolution proofs, and workflows using G-7 Colorflow, Kodak PRINERGY, Onevision, Canon Prisma, Speedflow Impose, and Hunkeler for conventional and inkjet processes.
  • Collaborates with the Press/Bindery supervisory team to establish job priorities, assign personnel and equipment, and set daily division goals.
  • Enforces the Digital Plate Division's Standard Operating Procedures and takes all necessary actions to meet division goals.
  • Meets daily with supervisors from other shifts to discuss what jobs have been completed, what jobs will need to be completed, personnel concerns, equipment concerns, supplies needed, and product testing and results.
