Full Job Description
This posting will be used to fill multiple summer internship positions in the Department of Transportation District Seven offices located in Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Clarendon, Hampton, Orangeburg, and Holly Hill.
Assists in engineering activities in the Maintenance and/or Construction Engineering fields. Responsibilities include assisting with:
- Sampling of construction materials for bridge and road construction projects;
- Inspection and project development of asphalt and surface treatment;
- Inspection of placement of pavement markings;
- Completion of routine engineering reports for construction/maintenance offices; and
- Construction/maintenance inspections.
Pay rate is between $17.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on qualifications.
Requirements
A high school diploma; and or an approved acceptable equivalence. Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year college or university program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
