Full Job Description

This position is located at the Mihail Kogalniceanu Airbase (MKAB) located outside the Black Sea resort city of Constanta, Romania.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Project management: Managing an emergency services program for an organization which includes but not limited to such divisions as Fire Protection, Law Enforcement, and/or Physical Security.

Planning and Evaluating: Evaluating law enforcement operations. Decision Making: Advising senior management and/or officials on emergency services program.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Oversee programs involving Fire Protection and Prevention.
  • Represent the garrison for law enforcement and fire protection/prevention law enforcement matters to the surrounding civilian communities to include the local, county and state police and fire departments; as well as civic interest groups.
  • Perform a wide range of managerial tasks in planning, managing, and directing law enforcement operations with full authority to make decisions and commit to a course of action.
  • Duties and functions include police services, vehicle and weapons registration, military police investigations, ect.
  • Develop performance plans, evaluates work performance and counsels staff as appropriate.
  • Manage the current year budget and forecast resources for fire, law enforcement and security in the out-years.
