This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner. Washington D.C.
is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia.
Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Working with project-based rental assistance programs administered by the Office of Multifamily Housing, and the statutory and regulatory authorities that govern these programs, which may include: Project-Based Section 8, Performance Based Contract Administration, Section 202 Housing for the Elderly or Section 811 Housing for Persons with Disabilities; AND - Directing and managing a staff, establishing and monitoring performance goals and objectives, determining priorities based upon changing programs, policies and procedures; AND - Preparing legislative, regulatory or sub-regulatory proposals to improve or create multifamily housing programs or initiatives; AND - Preparation of deliverables for financial and programmatic audits for multifamily housing programs and development of responses to audit findings.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.

MFH is widely responsible for production, asset management and portfolio oversight, and recapitalization of assisted properties, and field operations.
As part of the National Housing Act of 1934, Congress created the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) which later became a part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Office of Housing in 1965.
As a Director Assisted Housing Oversight Division, you will: Direct the development of policies and procedures notices, operating guidelines, and regulations regarding all aspects of the housing assistance and grant programs administered by Multifamily Housing.
Direct the evaluation of policy and procedural effectiveness and methods of operations for assigned programs, along with the quality of program data.
Direct the overall interpretation of procedures and the provision of guidance and assistance to Multifamily field components, owners, tenants, etc.
Direct the provision of programmatic and technical assistance to field components and other HUD and industry entities concerning housing assistance contract administration oversight.
