Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Office of The Executive Assistant Commissioner, located in Washington, DC.

Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing digital platforms (e.g., social media channels, content management systems like Drupal) to publish and optimize content for maximum reach and engagement, including knowledge user experience principles, and web analytics.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

In this position you will serve as a Digital Communication Specialist responsible for supporting Office of Trade's digital engagement program by helping develop, refine, and execute Office of Trade's digital engagement strategy.

Typical work assignments include: Reviewing and managing content requests for the external website, ensuring timely updates and maintaining site quality.

Analyzing the external website (CBP.gov) to identify and resolve accessibility issues, broken links, and formatting errors.

Supporting the management and organization of internal SharePoint Online sites, including handling content updates and site maintenance.

Developing and reviewing social media content and video scripts, maintaining an editorial calendar for campaign planning, and assisting with strategic planning to expand the organization's digital presence.
