Do you want your work to make a real, tangible difference in people’s lives? The Iowa Treasurer’s Office is seeking a Digital Outreach & Engagement Specialist who is passionate about public service, skilled in communication and excited to connect directly with Iowans both digitally and in person.

This entry-level role is an opportunity to use your creativity and communication skills to promote programs like ISave 529, IAble and Great Iowa Treasure Hunt, initiatives that help Iowans save for education, achieve greater financial independence and reclaim their lost money.

The Iowa Treasurer’s Office manages the state’s financial resources and provides programs that directly benefit the people of Iowa.

We help families save for higher education, empower individuals with disabilities through IAble, and reunite citizens with their lost property through the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt.

What You’ll Do

  • Write with impact. Write clear, engaging content including newsletters, press releases, articles, social media posts, website updates, manuals/procedures and correspondence.
  • Share programs that matter. Create clear, engaging content that makes financial programs accessible to all Iowans.
  • Be a public voice. Represent the Treasurer’s Office at conferences, community events and outreach activities. Speaking with confidence and enthusiasm to connect with Iowans face-to-face.
  • Drive digital outreach. Manage social media platforms, craft posts and use digital tools to expand awareness of key programs.
  • Collaborate in service. Work closely with a small, mission-driven team where every member contributes to helping Iowans.
  • Evaluate and improve. Use data and feedback to strengthen both online campaigns and in-person outreach.

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, some nights and weekends

This position will require a presence in the Office on a regular basis. There will be a potential option for some remote work once on-boarding and training have been completed, but this is not a fulltime remote work position.

Qualifications

Four-year bachelor’s degree preferred.
