This job involves teaching basic computer skills to inmates at a Michigan correctional facility using Microsoft's Digital Literacy program, along with guiding them through modules on financial literacy and workplace skills, and giving tests to track progress.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in computers or job training who enjoys educating others and wants to help people prepare for life after prison.
No prior teaching experience is needed, but a background in tech or coaching would be ideal.

Subclass Codes:
TRDBUSEDUC - Four years of experience in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, or other word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, presentation, or web-based programs), and/or experience coaching others in job preparatory skills using a computer for resume and cover letter writing, employment search, and submitting on-line applications.
TRDJOBDEV- Four years of experience in recruitment, job development, applicant selection, marketing job programs, and/or matching job seekers to employers.

Ethical Standards and Conduct (Note: you do not need to fill out the form)New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification.
All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
This is a drug and alcohol test-designated position.
