Job Description

Summary

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort Campbell, KY.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Conducting investigations on committed crimes; 2) Responding to crime scene to collect and preserve evidence; 3) Preparing case reports to be used during the judicial process; and 4) Ensure proper packaging, storage, and accountability of evidence.

Major Duties:

  • Conduct investigations to apprehend and/or detain persons committing the crime.
  • Capture information in writing to be used in the investigation process.
  • Responsible for the proper documentary control of the safe and secure storage of all evidence obtained during investigations.
  • Serve as point of contact for civil law enforcement agencies required to serve due process to military and civilian personnel.
  • Serve as the primary evidence custodian for the police department.
