This job is for a detective at a U.S.

Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is within the Directorate of Emergency Services Police/Provost Marshall Division located at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes (1) applying law enforcement investigative procedures and methods to collect and preserve crime scene evidence, (2) interviewing suspects/witnesses/victims of crimes AND (3) analyzing facts to identify suspects or develop case information.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Major Duties:

  • Develop and follow leads, take statements, and gather information and facts.
  • Identify suspects and develop case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspects to trial.
  • Provide investigation services for violations of Federal, state, county and DA statues, laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Conduct complete investigations of alleged criminal violations including theft, assault, shoplifting, child abuse, child neglect, adultery unlawful entry, juvenile misconduct or any other types of criminal violations.
  • Take statements from victims, analyze facts to develop case information, maintain integrity of information or evidence for prosecution.
  • Independently, or as a team member, conducts raids and/or searches premises.
  • Responsible for the proper documentary control of the safe and secure storage of all evidence obtained during investigations, raids, etc.
