This job is for a desk clerk at a Marine Corps housing facility in Hawaii, where you'll handle guest check-ins, reservations, payments, and basic customer service tasks like answering phones and sorting mail.

Minimum one year of experience performing the full range of administrative practices related to rental and inspection of hotel or housing facilities.
Skill to process customer complaints, prepare reports, and control inventory of furniture, household supplies and equipment.
Knowledge to provide general assistance to other facility personnel and perform a range of services such as: accept reservations, register guests, assign rooms, issue keys, calculate and post charges to guests' account, present statements, collect payments, and maintain records, manually and/or on a Personal Computer.
May perform room inspections and prepare deficiency reports. Knowledge of basic cash handling techniques. Major Duties:
Performs the full range of administrative practices related to rental and inspection of hotel or housing facilities.
Accepts reservations, registers guests, assigns rooms, issues keys, calculates and posts all charges to guests' account, presents statement, collects payments, maintains records, manually and/or on a Personal Computer.
May perform room inspections and prepare deficiency reports. Receives customer complaints and requests. Prepare reports concerning reservations.
May coordinate handling and movement of furniture and supplies between rooms. Maintains records of inventory of supplies and property.
Incumbents must be able to work autonomously and independently while performing the following task, auditing, balancing, posting, annotating, and reporting guest services transactions using an automated system.
Ensure reports for management are complete and ready before the end of the work shift. Prepares and highlights necessary reports concerning reservations and high balances.
Will be responsible for a full range of services, with a key responsibility being to ensure hotel operations accounting is correctly processed and accurately recorded during day and overnight shifts.
Will answer telephone or operate telephone system. Relays messages to guests. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail. Advises manager of any maintenance or guest problems.
Calls emergency maintenance if warranted. May answer questions about location of activities and tourist attractions in the immediate area.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly.
Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
