Summary

This job is as the second-in-command for a program that supports the well-being and leisure activities of Army families and personnel at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, overseeing divisions like community services, recreation, child care, and financial support.

It involves leading planning efforts, managing construction projects, and representing the program to community leaders.

A good fit would be someone with strong leadership experience in military or community programs, excellent communication skills, and a track record in strategic planning and project oversight.

Full Job Description

This position is located at Fort Campbell, Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation. This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Managerial work experience and executive knowledge and ability of the caliber described above.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Demonstrated experience in leading strategic planning, with documented accomplishments.

Experience with project management related to acquisitions, construction or capital improvements. Minimum of 3 years' experience at the Division Chief level of at least one Division within FMWR.

  • Serves as the Deputy Director of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) with full understanding and supervisory oversight of all FMWR Divisions: Army Community Service, Business and Recreation, Child and Youth Services, and NAF Support.
  • Leads the Strategic Planning process for FMWR , nesting FMWR priorities with Senior Leader priorities.
  • Provides oversight of Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) Major Construction Projects and Renovations.
  • Attends meetings, gives briefings, performs site visits, and generally represents FMWR to the Fort Campbell community.
  • Keeps the Director fully informed of overall accomplishments, deficiencies, and status of on-going programs and special projects assigned. Responsible for assuming the duties of the director in his/her absence. Performs other duties as assigned.
