Base salary range: $104,604 - $135,987

This senior leadership role in the Department of Veterans Affairs' Inspector General office involves helping to oversee and run administrative operations, such as budgeting, IT, and staff management, to support investigations and audits.

This position is location in the Office of Management and Administration (OMA), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Mandatory Qualifications Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic Requirements, Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), and Technical Qualifications (TQs) in their resumes. A.
Basic Requirement: As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence in their resume of progressively responsible executive level leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability.
Typically, experience of this nature will have been gain at or above the GS-14 or 15 grade levels in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector. B.
Technical Qualifications: Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications.
TQ 1:Demonstrated knowledge and management experience in planning, leading, and directing a broad range of operational programs and functions (e.g., information technology services, budget formulation and execution, financial management, human capital management, business process reengineering, procurement, space management, and training).
TQ 2: Experience leading the implementation of change management and process improvement initiatives across a geographically-dispersed and matrixed organization, in collaboration with agency senior leadership.

Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs): In addition to the Technical Qualification Requirements listed above, all new entrants into the Senior Executive Service (SES) under a career appointment will be assessed for executive competency against the following five mandatory ECQs.

ECQ 2: Driving Efficiency - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to strategically and efficiently manage resources, budget effectively, cut wasteful spending, and pursue efficiency through process and technological upgrades.
ECQ 3: Merit and Competence - This core qualification involves the demonstrated knowledge, ability and technical competence to effectively and reliably produce work that is of exceptional quality.
ECQ 4: Leading People - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a group toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals, and to drive a high-performance, high-accountability culture.
This includes, when necessary, the ability to lead people through change and to hold individuals accountable.
ECQ 5: Achieving Results - This core qualification involves the demonstrated ability to achieve both individual and organizational results, and to align results to stated goals from superiors.
Note: If you are a member of the SES or have been certified through successful participation in an OPM approved SES Candidate Development Program (SESCDP), or have SES reinstatement eligibility, you do not need to respond to the ECQs.
Instead, you should attach proof (e.g., SF-50, Certification by OPM's SES Qualifications Review Board (QRB)) of your eligibility for noncompetitive appointment to the SES. Major Duties:
As the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Management & Administration, you will: Assist the AIGMA in setting overall priorities, goals, and objectives for Divisions within OMA to meet customer expectations effectively and efficiently.
Implement planning and execution of priorities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved effectively and efficiently so that customer expectations are met.
Direct the review, update, or development of policies and directives on management and administration areas of responsibilities.
Ensure that required financial management reporting is coordinated with financial servicing organizations for OIG.
Assist the AIG in coordinating the OIG's strategic planning processes that serve as the foundation for the OIG's program of audits, investigations, inspections, evaluations, and other reviews.
