About the Position: This position is located a Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital's Clinical Dentistry A in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Basic Requirement for Dentist (General Practice): Education: Applicants must possess a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Experience and/or Education Required:A.

Applicants must have completed a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science. OR B.

Applicants must have two years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11). OR C.

Applicants must have completed a residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science AND professional dentistry experience and/or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11).

When combining residency program and professional dentistry experience and/or training to qualify, the total must be equal to or greater than two years.

Note for Qualifying Experience: Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.

Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position.

Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish shades of color. Major Duties:

• Perform full range of dental tasks including treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases and dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative or preventive measures.
• Maintain records by entering workload production data into workload data reporting system.
• Mentors subordinate staff on technical issues.
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
• Prescribe medication to patients as required.
