Requirements

As a Dental Assistant within the Department of Corrections, you will collaborate closely with our skilled Dentists to deliver essential dental care to our inmate population, ensuring that services are provided with both compassion and professionalism. In this role, you will support the Dentist during patient examinations and treatments, manage appointment scheduling, and oversee the daily flow of patients. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate dental records, providing chairside assistance, ensuring the proper functioning of dental office equipment, and executing various dental laboratory procedures. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
  • Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
