Job Description
Summary
This job involves helping people with dementia and their family caregivers through counseling, support groups, and community events to improve their quality of life.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral, human services, social services, or related field

- Ability to conduct needs assessments and refer to community resources
- Excellent communication skills for outreach and facilitating support groups
- Current Washington Driver's License and insured vehicle

Dementia Support Specialist for Olympic Area Agency on Aging (O3A) based in Aberdeen, Raymond, or Long Beach, WA.
Requirements
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in behavioral, human services, or social services or related field and two years of paid social service experience, or BA and four years paid social service experience.
Interviewing and counseling skills with an ability to work in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of social services, human services issues, dementia support desired especially experience dealing with older adults and family caregivers.
Ability to conduct needs assessments and referral to community resources. Requires strong communication skills to conduct community outreach and facilitate support groups.
Requires current WDL & insured vehicle.
Additional Information
$67,098 to $88,039 annually.
40 hrs./wk. Non-Exempt.
