Full Job Description
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is looking for a Civil Rights DBE Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will be the lead expert for the Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program (DBE).
The DBE Coordinator will be the primary subject-matter expert for DBE certification, goal setting, and compliance administration. The role has statewide impact and requires independent judgment to ensure program integrity and regulatory compliance.
Principal DutiesAs the Civil Rights DBE Coordinator, you will:
- Administer the statewide DBE certification program.
- System Administrator: Use the B2GNow system to process DBE applications, annual renewals, and interstate requests.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the UDOT DBE Program Plan in alignment with federal regulations.
- Establish DBE goals for federally funded projects.
- Monitor procurement and project activities to ensure compliance with DBE requirements.
- Manage and analyze DBE participation data and prepare required reports for FHWA and FTA.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for DBE program inquiries from internal staff, contractors, consultants, and DBE firms.
- Attend public meetings, conferences, workshops, and training to remain current on DBE regulations and best practices.
Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, you must have:
- A valid driver's license
- The willingness and ability to travel statewide and limited out of state. This may include occasional overnight stays.
- Experience with managing contracts, grants, or similar legal agreements.
- Experience making sure projects follow specific policies, and procedures.
- Strong professional writing and speaking communication skills.
