Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as a data scientist for the Navy, where you'll analyze large sets of data to build machine learning models that predict outcomes and help make important decisions for undersea systems.
You'll handle everything from collecting and cleaning data to creating reports and presentations about your findings.

You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION DIV within the UNDERSEA SYSTEM & SUSTAINMENT ENGINEERING DEPT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional scientist analyzing large datasets for the development of machine learning algorithms and predictive models for a program or system.
Examples of qualifying experience include applying experience in experience in data analysis, data collection, data preparation, and data visualization tools; applying knowledge in Statistics, Machine Learning algorithms, Python programming language, and Business Analytics; or applying knowledge in software development, and Scrum Agile methodologies.
