About the Position: Serves as a Cyber Operations Planner for the Headquarters US European Command (HQ EUCOM) Cyberspace Operations Division (ECJ311), providing expertise in cyberspace operations and supporting modernization of cyber plans to address evolving policy, doctrine, and threats.

Develops and coordinates cyber planning and program requirements with HQ staff, higher headquarters, and partner nations to advance cybersecurity operations and capability development.

You will be evaluated on your competency in the following areas, based on one year of specialized experience that includes: Strategic Cyberspace Planning Aligning organizational goals and resources to successfully implement strategic cyberspace plans; Program Management and Execution Developing the implementation of organization-wide cyber programs and project assignments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and technical requirements; AND Policy Development and Governance Creating and monitoring the execution of policies, procedures, and guidance to enhance the command's cyber capabilities; Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Serves as Cyberspace strategic planner and subject matter specialist with full responsibility for planning and execution management of HQ USEUCOM Cyberspace activities.
  • Formulates Cyber' plans, integration and synchronization capabilities for theater Cyber' operations to align HQ EUCOM mission requirements and needs.
  • Coordinate and research continuing improvement issues crossing all cyberspace operations functions.
  • Assists in the development of Command strategic plans that cover the operational environment, mission, vision, goals and concept of operations priorities, short- and long-range tasks for units and staff.
  • Determines requirements, generates taskings to address development and implementation of specific approved projects in accordance with HQ USEUCOM strategic plan mission.
  • Directs and manages high visibility efforts involving strategic business planning, continuous improvement issues and/or program integration needs.
