Summary

This role involves leading a team to create and run cybersecurity awareness programs for the U.S.

Senate, focusing on training employees to spot threats like phishing through simulations, videos, and tailored learning materials.

It requires managing IT projects and communicating complex security ideas to everyone from beginners to experts, while ensuring the Senate's digital systems stay secure during critical sessions.

The Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a Cybersecurity Senior IT Manager - Awareness.

Required Work Experience At least eight years of experience in systems support, systems development or applications development, with at least 4 years of experience in a leadership role within an IT environment, demonstrating proficiency in managing, supervising, and developing professional and technical teams.

Desired Qualifications Significant experience leading cybersecurity awareness/training programs in a large enterprise, including phishing simulations and role-based learning paths.

Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate cybersecurity concepts to diverse audiences (from beginners to highly technical teams).

Experience producing high-quality multimedia and written communications (video, graphics, presentations, campaigns).

Familiarity with the NICE Workforce Framework (NCWF) or similar competency frameworks. Proven ability to translate cybersecurity requirements into effective curricula and communications.

Strong stakeholder management and executive-ready communication skills. Craft and deliver clear instructional materials via multiple channels.

Expertise in developing virtual and real-world curricula tailored to audience comprehension levels. Working Conditions Sedentary. Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S.

Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions.

In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate.

As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during a lapse, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption.

As such, maintenance windows may only occur at night, on weekends, and occasionally on holidays.

Employees who perform systems upgrades, maintenance, wiring, backups, support our alternate data centers will have schedules that include working nights, weekends, and holidays.

To meet the needs of the U.S.

Senate, the person in this position will be required to work extended hours, outside normal business hours, which includes but may not be limited to holidays and weekends, as necessary.

Security Clearance This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S.

citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance. Major Duties:

Develops and implements IT strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring effective execution across specialized IT domains.

Leads diverse IT teams, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and excellence in specialized areas such as UX, product development, software development, business partners, quality assurance, COTS development and vendor management.

Champions the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and improve service delivery and product development.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with business partners, customers, and vendors, ensuring IT strategies and projects align with stakeholder needs and expectations.

Oversees the operational aspects of the IT department, ensuring efficient resource allocation, process optimization, and delivery of high-quality IT services and products.

Manages budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered within budget and contribute to the financial objectives of the organization.
