Full Job Description

The Customer Service Field Representative Senior will receive, investigate, and resolve public complaints and service requests concerning Waste Services convenience center operations.

Analyze issues, recommend corrective actions, and support effective service delivery. Perform related duties as required.

Waste Services is responsible for weekly curbside waste and every other week curbside recycling collection for over 151,000 customers in the urban services district as well as collection of over 200 public litter baskets in the downtown Nashville corridor. The division also operates four convenience centers where residents of Davidson County can bring waste, recycling, bulk items, food waste, household hazardous waste, and other items for recycling or disposal and eight recycling drop-off locations available to residents who do not qualify for curbside recycling collection.

Waste Services currently employs staff members working in collection, administration, customer service, education, landfill engineering, development review, and outreach.


Requirements

  • Operates in all areas of convenience center work.

  • Operates customer receipt system.

  • Verifies county residency.

  • Enters customer information into database.

  • Determines cubic yardage of trash.

  • Receives payment and writes receipt.

  • Maintains and stocks supplies.

  • Dispatches roll off trucks.

  • Determines which drop off centers need pickups

  • Serve as receptionist at primary point of contact for the center.

  • Places, answers and routes telephone calls.

  • Forwards information to proper person.

  • Keeps records of calls as needed.

  • May receive and direct visitors.

  • Use wheel loader to lift heavy items.

  • May operate Hazardous Waste drop off area.

  • Separates and places hazardous materials into proper areas for pickup and proper storage.

  • Cleans convenience center.

  • Sweeps around roll- off containers.

  • Collects and disposes of litter.

  • Mows grass at convenience center.

  • Provides service to customers.

  • Receives customer complaints for convenience center.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience in public contact, performing various Recycling Center duties, reading meters, and/or responding to complaint calls.

Licenses Required

Valid Drivers License
