Full Job Description
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is seeking to fill two Custodian vacancies to support their facilities throughout Riverside County. Incumbents in this position maintain an assigned building area in a clean and orderly condition; and perform other related duties as required.
Competitive candidates will possess custodian experience. This position is required to work rotating shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, irregular hours, and may be required to work overtime.
The Custodian is the working level class in the Custodial series and requires the ability to learn the work and reliably perform it independently without close supervision.

Requirements
• Sweep, dust, strip, seal, wet mop, wax, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo rugs.
• Wash windows, walls, and restrooms; empty and clean ash trays, waste receptacles, kick buckets, and take trash to disposal area.
• Clean light fixtures; replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; dust and polish woodwork, desks, shelves, bright work, and tables.
• Clean restrooms and replenish toilet paper and soap.
• May move furniture or equipment; mix disinfectant solutions; burn trash and clean incinerators.
• Observe, check, and report unauthorized personnel in and around buildings.
• May drive light truck to collect trash; may secure building and area after cleanup; may relieve security guard.
Qualifications
Ability to: Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance; learn the methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment; understand and follow oral and written directions; work cooperatively with others.
Other Requirements
License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.
Physical: The incumbent will be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Background: Candidates must be able to pass an extensive department background check.
