Requirements

We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Custodian. This position, depending on the assigned location, will assist with the setup and breakdown of events and general indoor and outdoor maintenance. This position will conduct daily inspections, manage waste removal, clean bathrooms and locker rooms, kitchens, and general areas. Positions assigned to The Lodge at Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park will primarily support special events during evenings, days, nights, and weekends, and may include additional ground maintenance work at Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication, customer service, time management, and adaptability skills.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
• The Lodge at Hal & Berni Hanson Regional Park, Aldie, VA
• Ashburn Recreation & Community Center Ashburn, VA 20148

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Prioritizing the health, safety, and customer satisfaction of all our external and internal customers. Assisting in answering questions and concerns.
• Assisting with room set-up/takedown for activities and special events based on the assigned floor plan. Assisting with table, chair, and other Lodge furniture arrangement.
• Performing indoor and outdoor housekeeping, trash, and debris removal.
• Operating outdoor ground maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
• Assisting with inventory of supplies and submitting lists of purchasing needs.
• Performing daily inspections, safety checks, and reporting issues and concerns to the supervisor.
• Assisting with emergency response and snow/ice removal.
• Transporting vehicles for general purposes to designated locations.
• Performing other essential job functions and department assignments.


*Schedule may require work in the evening and/or on weekends. *

Salary commensurate with experience.


Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age; High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prefer six (6) months of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in customer service and/or special events.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Additional Information

Must undergo criminal and DMV background checks. First Aid/CPR certifications immediately upon hire. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
