This job is for a custodian working day shifts in the Capitol Complex, where you'll clean and maintain state buildings to keep them safe and welcoming for government operations.
It's ideal for someone who is reliable, physically fit, and enjoys hands-on work in a public service role supporting Colorado residents.
No advanced education is needed, just a willingness to follow safety rules and work as part of a team.

This position is only open to Colorado state residents.

A summary of the duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Custodian/Housekeeping Services – Office and common area cleaning including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, multi-surface cleaning, brass cleaning and polishing, hard-surface floor cleaning and recycling.
Restrooms cleaning including trash removal, fixtures, stocking supplies, sweeping and mopping.
Residency Requirement:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Only:At least six (6) months of experience in custodian/janitorial work.
Conditions of Employment:
Shift Work: works 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Physical Demands: exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and / or up to 50 lbs of force frequently to move objects.
A pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Appeal Rights:
An applicant who has been removed from an employment list or removed from consideration during the selection process may request a review by the State Personnel Director.
As an applicant directly affected by the results of the selection or comparative analysis process, you may file a written appeal with the State Personnel Director.
Review of the completed, signed and submitted appeal will be timely on the basis of written material submitted by you, using the official appeal form signed by you or your representative.
This form must be completed and delivered to the State Personnel Board by email at dpa_state.personnelboard@state.co.us within ten (10) calendar days from your receipt of notice or acknowledgement of the Department’s action.
