This job is for a custodial worker who keeps county buildings clean and tidy by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and handling trash removal.
It involves following a schedule to maintain floors, restrooms, and outdoor areas, plus setting up for events and using cleaning tools safely.
A good fit would be someone reliable with basic cleaning experience, attention to safety, and the ability to follow instructions in a government office setting.
Pay Schedule II, Grade H13, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week

Under general supervision, cleans and provides general upkeep to County buildings and premises.
Cleans floors, walls, furniture, rest rooms, corridors, and other building areas and fixtures according to established schedule. Set up and break down tables for special events.
Uses brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, commercial burnishers, strippers and carpet cleaners.
Uses a variety of aerosol and liquid chemical cleaning products.Sweeps interior and exterior steps and walkways.Collects and disposes of trash and recyclable materials. Cleans up spills and breakages.
Picks up trash on the exterior of facilities as required.Maintains simple records of time and material used.
Requests needed supplies and equipment.Examples of Other DutiesMay lead and instruct other custodial personnel.May remove snow and ice from steps and walkways.May assist in moving furniture and equipment.May operate a passenger car, and/or panel, pickup, or commercial-weight truck.Performs other related duties as required.

Persons appointed to this classification will work on a fixed shift basis which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime when scheduled. Employees in this classification are designated as Emergency/Essential and may be required to work overtime with little or no advance notice.
Physical and Environmental ConditionsThe work of this classification entails the performance of heavy physical labor including bending, stooping, lifting and carrying of objects and the use of equipment.
Some duties require exposure to hazardous conditions such as adverse weather, chemicals, and bio-hazards, such as body fluids and sewage. Some duties may require travel between work sites.
