Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team!

What are we looking for? Must possess general knowledge of traffic safety practices and pedestrian control procedures.

Familiarity with standard safety equipment such as signage and hand signals is preferred.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and safety protocols related to pedestrian and traffic control on a military installation.

Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods of time with high levels of vehicular and pedestrian activity.

Must be able to recognize and appropriately respond to unexpected or emergency situations involving individuals or vehicles.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals, such as children, parents, and uniformed personnel.

Must demonstrate good judgement to act calmly under pressure or in fast-changing conditions (i.e., adverse weather conditions, sudden traffic surges, or emergencies).

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain post throughout shift. Major Duties:

What to expect Performs assignments at fixed posts near designated pedestrian crosswalks and high-traffic areas on base, with responsibility for enforcing pedestrian safety and traffic control measures in a consistent and impartial manner.

Operates independently at assigned post to ensure safe crossing of pedestrians, including youth, families, and employees.

Controls pedestrian flow and slows or halts vehicle traffic as necessary to protect individuals using marked crossing zones.

Monitors surroundings for unsafe behaviors, equipment hazards, and traffic violations. Advises supervisor of any unsafe conditions, suspicious activity, or incidents involving near-misses or accidents.

Maintains situational awareness and follows established safety protocols.

Utilizes standard traffic control equipment such as signage, hand signals, and reflective gear to maintain visibility and communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians.

Remains alert and attentive throughout the shift, monitoring for unsafe behaviors, traffic violations, and changing conditions that may impact safety. Performs other related duties as assigned.
