Pay Schedule I, Grade 20, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week

A vacancy exists in the 911 Center, Office of Budget and Finance.

Job Purpose
Under general supervision, provides record information to law enforcement agencies, the judicial system, and other parties.

Essential Job Duties

Reviews, edits, and disseminates sensitive and confidential information records, in response to inquiries from other law enforcement agencies, the courts, the general public, and other parties, in accordance with local, State, and Federal guidelines.

Including the Maryland Public Information Act.Assigns and maintains records and preservation requestsOperates office machinery such as CAD, photocopiers, fax machines, and printers.Collects and compiles technical data and prepares summary statistics.Performs occasional light typing or word processing.Examples of Other DutiesProvides routine office support by answering phones, directing calls and mail, filing, and acting as receptionist.

    • Knowledge of criminal justice system including terminology, documents, and processes.
    • Skills in accessing and utilizing various criminal justice computer networks.
    • Skills in interpreting rules, regulations, and procedures and using independent judgment in applying them to specific situations according to established standards.
    • Skills in communicating and processing information accurately.
    Character Requirements
    All applicants must be of good moral character and emotionally stable as determined by a comprehensive background investigation and drug test.

    EXAMINATION PROCEDURE

    Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.

    Additional Information

    Persons appointed to this position may work on either a rotating or fixed shift basis, which will include nights, weekends, holidays, or overtime when scheduled. Some positions in this classification may be designated as Emergency/Essential personnel and may be required to work overtime with little or no notice.

    Physical and Environmental Conditions
    The work of these positions is essentially sedentary but may entail occasional walking, lifting, or other limited physical activities.

    Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation
    Applicants selected for employment with Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination, drug screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and fingerprinting checks.
