This job supports the Alaska Parole Board by calculating parole eligibility dates, managing records, and ensuring accurate data for decision-making on prisoner releases.
It involves working with databases, researching cases, and collaborating with other agencies while maintaining strict confidentiality.

What You Will Be Doing:
Help support the Alaska Parole Board in its mission by using your expertise to interpret time-accounting records, calculate parole eligibility and release dates, and serve as a knowledgeable resource on Alaska parole statutes and regulations for staff and partners statewide!
Take in a beautiful office view while taking the lead on gathering, organizing, and maintaining important data the Board relies on for informed decision-making.
You’ll collaborate with staff and partner agencies to keep essential systems running smoothly by upkeeping shared databases, researching case information, and creating forms and materials – all while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Department policies.

PREA NOTIFICATION
The Department of Corrections follows and maintains federal and state requirements standards including, but not limited to, Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards which apply to all public and private institutions that house adult or juvenile offenders.

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS/APSIN/ACOMS
Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN.
DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice.
Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
FINGERPRINT NOTICE
All Department of Corrections employees are required to be fingerprinted. The successful candidate must pass a criminal history check.
FLEXIBLY STAFFED
This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidate’s credibly possessed and proven competencies. If hired at the lower level, you will be promoted to the higher level after completing the training plan and demonstrating competency in the work.
DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREMENT
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license. Proof of licensure will be required prior to reporting to duty.
