Requirements

As a Criminal Justice System Specialist 1, you will play a key role in school and community safety.

Specific duties will involve scheduling the release of funding announcements, drafting announcement documentation, and preparing correspondence for projects in receipt of grant funds.

Excellent communication skills are vital, as you will be responding to requests for information from grantees, applicants, and advisory committees.

You will ensure contractual compliance and provide technical assistance by conducting on-site or virtual monitoring visits.

In addition, you will review and recommend any necessary modifications to funded projects, as well as compile data from funded projects to meet state and federal reporting requirements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, and report to the office 1 day per month and as needed.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the commonwealth’s Criminal Justice System Specialist Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) program; or
  • One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
