By helping guide our staff, you will allow us to enhance the quality, coordination and planning within the criminal and juvenile justice systems, facilitate the delivery of services to victims of crime, and increase the safety of our communities.

Requirements

In this position, you will serve as the lead staff member supporting the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff Education and Training Board.

Your work will involve planning and organizing program operations by establishing objectives and timelines, assigning tasks to program staff, and reviewing work products for quality and accuracy.

You will also coordinate the development of the curriculum and research relevant training content.

Some of your duties will include developing statements of work, supervising the contractor selection process, and providing oversight of executed contracts.

Additionally, you will draft annual reports to submit to the Governor and members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly on program activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, reporting to the office 1 day per a month and as needed.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as Criminal Justice System Specialist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
  • Two years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a master’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
