Job Description

Summary

This role involves managing the ATF Medic Program, advising senior leaders on policies and technical issues related to law enforcement, and leading teams on complex studies and investigations.

It requires hands-on experience as an ATF Medic and strong skills in policy creation, leadership, and communication.

A good fit would be someone with federal law enforcement background who enjoys guiding programs and solving national-level challenges.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

This position is located in the Office of Field Operations, Special Operations Division, Tactical Management Branch. This is an ATF Headquarters FTE.

The selectee's duty station is ATF Headquarters or in the nearest ATF Field Office. Specific to the ATF Medic Program Manager, the position reports to the SAC, Tactical Management Branch.

To qualify for the Criminal Investigator/Program Manager position at the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

Specialized experience must include all of the following: Create and manage policies and/or guidance; AND Provide leadership to others such as workgroups, teams or special projects; AND Provide leadership to others such as workgroups, teams or special projects; AND Communicate orally and in writing (i.e.

reports and briefings). Applicant must be a current or former ATF Medic.

If the applicant is no longer a member of the ATF Medic Program, he/she must have departed the ATF Medic Program in good standing, and if required eligible for reinstatement.

The major duties of the Criminal Investigator/Program Manager position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as an advisor to top level Bureau management such as the Assistant Director(Field Operations), Division Chiefs, field Special Agents in Charge (SAC's), on all policy issues and technical matters within his/her area of responsibility.

Performs complex, in-depth studies and/or directs and coordinates task forces or working groups on significant law enforcement issues which impact on functions and programs of national significance.

Provides technical assistance to Bureau managers and supervisors on major national investigations involving violations of Federal laws under ATF jurisdiction.

Reviews, evaluates, and recommends improvements to major law enforcement program and mission areas.

Provides leadership and guidance to Headquarters and field managers on the impact and implementation of new developments, trends, technology, and other matters affecting the assigned functional area, project, or program
