The CFAE Operations Team requires a crew leader with the understanding of our seasonal ice build/removal processes, arena floor cover installation, basketball floor assembly, housekeeping needs, Showmobile operations and construction of various tents and stages, requiring hands-on experience with site-specific equipment. Supports the overall function of indoor and outdoor events by supervising the daily operations of personnel and equipment setup. Coordinates, schedules, and directs event operations crews for preparation and restoration of city facilities before and after events. Ensures event facilities and equipment are maintained in clean, working order. Aids facility management and serves as a facility representative.

Department Hiring Salary Range: $48,666 - $55,845

Requirements

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

Manages the daily activities of the crew by generating and distributing conversion guidelines, drawings, layouts, setup plans and cleaning assignments, detecting changing event requirements, ensuring safety, providing guidance and technical assistance, monitoring work to ensure that jobs are completed in a professional and timely manner, performing inspections, and preparing reports.

Function as a lead worker by performing essentially the same work as those directed.

Oversee upkeep, installation and storage of all tools, staging, decking, bleachers, portable seating, tables, tents, furniture, hockey and basketball equipment, bike racks and outdoor events equipment.

Reports required maintenance repairs, contacts vendors for service calls, and facilitates scheduling of maintenance for the facility, equipment, and vehicles.

Performs event equipment maintenance and basic repairs as needed.

  • Supervise personnel by monitoring training needs, implementing policies and procedures, coordinating schedules, contributing content for performance evaluations, and serving on interview panels.
  • Works closely with the event team to ensure event goals and requests are achieved by monitoring the effectiveness of available services, obtaining, and maintaining inventory of event equipment at facilities, conducting site visits, responding to inquiries, and initiating action where required.

    Facilitate event scheduling by communicating event logistics including available resources, setup options, conversion capabilities, and overall time requirements.

    Coordinates manpower and provides direct supervision to operations personnel and contracted staff during events. Provides customer service support by responding to customer feedback and problems.

    Resolves problems or complaints from clients and the public in accordance with established policies and procedures. Serve as a City Executive for events as required.

    Performs administrative duties, coordinates meetings, maintains records, develops reports and correspondence. Prepares estimates of potential operations costs by assessing manpower and materials.

    Monitors and obtains supplies required for daily use and special projects, restocking and issuance, fulfilling in-house requisitions, reviews and approves invoices, and makes budget recommendations.

    Qualifications

    Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.

    Four years' experience

    Preferred Education/Experience:
    Associate's degree

    Three years of event experience

    Preferred License(s) and/or Certification(s):
    Forklift Certification

    Work Schedule: 40hrs / per week, Mon – Fri / 7:30am – 4:30pm. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
