This job involves leading a team of workers to build, fix, clean, and maintain the city's wastewater pipes and systems, while also handling complaints and preparing reports on the work done.
It's a hands-on role that requires being out in the field, operating vehicles, and ensuring everyone follows safety rules.
A good fit would be someone with experience supervising maintenance teams, who is physically fit and comfortable working in tough conditions like climbing into tight spaces.
Directs and leads a crew involved in the installation, repair, cleaning and maintenance of the wastewater collection system which includes manholes, gravity mains, and force mains.
Maintains time, equipment and materials used to prepare reports Instructs crew on proper safety standards and work expectations Transports crew to work sites Climbs ladders and stairs; bends, pushes, pulls, stoops, and lifts up to 75 lbs.; stands for extended periods of time; confined space entry also required Requires the ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle Valid driver's license required Qualifications Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational or technical processes.
Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Two years supervisory experience in a maintenance role highly preferred.
