Full Job Description

You will serve as a CRANE OPERATOR LEADER in the NAVAL MUNITIONS COMMAND CONUS WEST DIVISION of NMC CWD DET SEAL BEACH.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will perform a wide range of operations involving receipt, inspection, segregation, store, inventory, handling and shipping of explosives and ordnance material.
  • You will coordinate, track and record weight test certificate and certification data for the Program Manager.
  • You will coordinate and lead crews performing various work with ordnance operations.
  • You will review onside conditions of complex lifts and will perform pre-job to ensure crane personnel understand the proper procedures.
  • You will operate cranes to move ammunition, missiles, heavy equipment and other similar items.
  • You will advise management of any unsafe facilities during daily checks.
  • You will assist supervisor with timekeeping, project manning, and checking of qualifications prior to assigned work.
