Pay Schedule I, Grade 19, Regular Schedule: 35 hours per week.
A vacancy exists in the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Transportation for CountyRide. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below.

Requirements
Under general supervision, operates specialized computer system to reserve, coordinate and schedule appointments for elderly, disabled, and rural clients requesting CountyRide services.
Example of Essential Duties- Operates specialized computer system to register CountyRide clients, receive requests for trips and schedules trips via a GIS based computer program.
- Enters and retrieves information from computer system.
- Processes trip requests.
- Identifies special client situations and refers the client to appropriate staff if necessary.
- Files and maintains records.
- Records statistical data.
- Sends information to clients.
- Responds to inquiries of a routine nature regarding County, department, and/or program policies and procedures by telephone or by regular mail.
- Collects information regarding more complex inquiries and refers to appropriate staff for follow-up as necessary.
- Operates office machinery, such as microcomputers, photocopiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, scanners, and printers.
- Has experience in customer service.
- Has experience with high volume call centers.
Examples of Other Duties- Guides, assists and trains co-workers.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Required QualificationsPossession of a high school diploma or appropriate equivalent.
PLUS18 months of experience, and six months of computer experience utilizing a reservation/scheduling/dispatching computer program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Entry Level)- Knowledge of office procedures and filing systems.
- Knowledge of a reservation/scheduling/dispatching computer program.
- Knowledge of Baltimore County and Baltimore City geographical areas and landmarks.
- Skill in the operation of office machines as listed in essential duties.
- Ability to community effectively.
- Ability to follow both written and oral directions.
- Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries from the public.
- Ability to maintain files.
- Ability to follow County and department rules and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Full Performance)- Knowledge of federal, state, county, department and CountyRide rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Baltimore County and Baltimore City traffic patterns and traffic laws.
- Skill in the operation of reservation/scheduling/dispatching and/or other related computer software.
- Ability to complete tasks in accordance with established guidelines.
- Ability to work independently.
