Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing hands-on support and coordination of services for individuals and families dealing with mental health and intellectual disability challenges, often in their homes or communities.

Key Requirements

  • Six months experience as a County Caseworker 1, or successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
  • Bachelor's degree in social welfare, or a bachelor's degree with 12 credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or related social sciences plus one year of professional social casework experience
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 relevant college credits
  • Ability to provide case management services during non-traditional hours like evenings and weekends
  • Serve in on-call rotation for crisis intervention and support
  • Collaborate with consumers, families, and agencies to access community resources and services
  • Full-time in-office work from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday, no telework option

The Columbia-Montour-Snyder-Union Counties MH/ID Unit is currently searching for County Caseworker 2s for our Danville Office. If you are a motivated and dependable individual, and able to provide intensive case management services to consumers and their families, this may be perfect for you.

We are looking for a motivated and dependable person to provide intensive case management services to consumers and their families in home and community settings. If you like the idea of helping families work through potential problems, CMSU would like to talk to you about helping us help others.

Requirements

Provide case management services to consumers and their families during non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends when necessary and appropriate. Serve in an on-call rotation for crisis intervention/support services with participating families.

Collaborate with consumers and other involved agencies to locate and access all community resources and supportive services. On day one of employment, CMSU’s employees begin earning paid vacation and sick time. In addition to vacation and sick time, CMSU provides four (4) personal days per year and 15 paid holidays. CMSU also provides health, dental and vision insurance to its staff. Tuition reimbursement for graduate and undergraduate courses both in-person or on-line is also available. CMSU staff also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
  • A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
