Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Commissioner located in Washington, DC.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Experience establishing and tracking deadlines.
Reviewing written products such as letters, memos or reports for formatting and grammar. Controlling and tracking deliverables. Composing responses to general inquiries.
Utilizing organizational knowledge to compose responses to correspondence or taskings. Analyzing and recommending solutions on work process relating to correspondence or taskings.

This position starts at a salary of $102,415.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $133,142.00 (GS-12, Step 10).
Typical duties include: Serving as an analyst with the Correspondence Unit within the Office of the Executive Secretariat (OES).
Managing the full life-cycle of all taskers sent to the CBP Tasking Unit, or internal & external correspondence for the Correspondence Unit.
Reviewing and prioritizing incoming deliverables, uploading them into a tracking system and assigning them to the correlating CBP office with specific guidance, action and deadline.
Reviewing final product for format, style and grammar. Facilitating clearance, approval and signature of deliverables with the CBP Front Office. Identifying actual or potential problem areas, trends.
