This job involves running and maintaining a utility plant at a state prison in Frackville, Pennsylvania, to ensure steady heat and hot water for everyone on site, including inmates and staff.
You'll handle boilers and related equipment, fix issues as they arise, and guide inmate work crews on tasks.

As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will perform work and oversee inmate work crews completing tasks to operate, maintain, and repair our boiler plant.
You will monitor efficient operations of two 800 HP Cleaver Brooks Boilers under normal and emergency conditions.
You will also operate auxiliary equipment such as feedwater pumps, condensate pumps, chemical feed pumps, forced draft fans, control equipment, and an ash system This role requires the ability to analyze problems and provide appropriate solutions that will ensure a continuous supply of heat and hot water.
In addition, you will test water chemistry and water softening systems, document test results, and inventory water treatment chemicals, reagents, and supplies needed to perform testing.
