The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Fayette is seeking an enthusiastic Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor to become part of our team!

Requirements

In this position, you will supervise and instruct inmates in a structured classroom and on-the-job training in the electronics trade.

This will include the standard practices, methods, and procedures of the electronics trade involving the maintenance and repair of various electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices used in the electronics, radio, and television repair or broadcast industry.

As an instructor, you will conduct classroom training by delivering an appropriate curriculum and maintain documentation of training progress and assignment details.

You will be expected to maintain order and discipline of inmates during work assignments and classroom instruction.

You will also oversee inmate work crews in completing electronics work orders and completed assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
