Corrections Specialist 4 (CS4) - Position CP39
Victim Services Program

The Community Corrections Division has a permanent, full-time Corrections Specialist 4 (CS4) opening available.
This position, CP39, is within Victim Services Program, which is located in the Southwest Region Business Office in Lacey, WA. This position provides services to Thurston, Mason, and Kitsap Counties.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor.

In accordance with WFSE Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY.

In addition, you must meet the following:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Criminal Justice or a related field, from a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US Department of Education
AND
Five (5) years’ experience working in a position where the primary job responsibility was providing direct services to victims of crime (i.e, assisting victims in responding to the impacts of crime and recovering from the trauma of victimization).
Master’s degree in one of the above-listed areas may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
OR
Associate's degree in one of the above-listed areas with seven (7) years’ experience working in a position where the primary job responsibility was providing direct services to victims of crime (i.e., assisting victims in responding to the impacts of crime and recovering from the trauma of victimization).
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 10 years’ experience working in a position where the primary job responsibility was providing direct services to victims of crime (i.e., assisting victims in responding to the impacts of crime and recovering from the trauma of victimization).
The ability to assess the specific safety needs of individuals and to develop a response plan that is designed to meet those needs within the context of the individual's community and social environment.
The ability to establish and maintain robust working partnerships with colleagues within and outside the department.
The ability to maintain a balanced, professional approach to situations that may otherwise elicit strong reactions or emotions.
Skill in leading task-focused, multidisciplinary teams.
The ability to work independently, effectively prioritizing tasks and responsibilities, making efficient use of time and resources.
