Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900
Typical requirements: Executive-level leadership experience. Senior executive qualifications required.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves supervising individuals in a graduated reentry program, helping them transition back into the community through case management, field visits, and coordinating resources.
It's a role for experienced corrections professionals who can handle challenging behaviors objectively and build partnerships with justice system partners.
A good fit would be a current Department of Corrections employee with strong background in community corrections and a commitment to public safety.
WFSE Article 4.7 Internal Transfer OpportunityFour (4) years’ experience as a Community Corrections Officer within the Washington State Department of Corrections.
OR
A bachelor’s degree from a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US Department of Education
AND
Three (3) years of professional case management* experience in adult or juvenile corrections or closely related field which includes at least three (3) of the following:
OR
Equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education totaling seven (7) years.
OR
Equivalent combination of qualifying experience and education totaling seven (7) years.
AND
Willingness to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds and anti-social behaviors; review graphic materials, ability to remain objective when dealing with individuals under supervision.
Staff who do not qualify for legacy status under the provisions for arming are required to be armed and must be willing and the ability to: possess and use a firearm under federal and state law; maintain firearm qualifications; and successful complete ongoing training requirements associated with mandatory arming and potential use of force.
