The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our team as a Corrections Food Service Instructor for the DOC Training Academy.
In this role, you will provide training to inmate workers in food service operations.

In this position, you will provide supervision and culinary arts instruction to inmates assigned to the Food Service Department of the Training Academy.
Your work will involve ensuring security, that equipment is accounted for, and that all areas are secured.
You will work with other food service staff to make sure that all necessary work is performed in preparing and serving meals.
This will include assigning tasks and ensuring inmates can handle those functions with direction from food service staff.
Some of your duties will include determining menu items and recipes, utilizing leftover food, estimating food quantity needed, and enforcing all safety and sanitation rules.
You can instruct inmates in the steps of preparation on an ongoing basis. Additionally, you will report to the manager about food and other supplies needed or if there is a problem with any items.
