Requirements

As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3, you will plan, organize, and direct a program encompassing building maintenance, groundskeeping, security, heating, and utility plant operations. You will oversee all electrical and mechanical maintenance by strategically delegating tasks to the Facility Maintenance Manager, Utility Plant Supervisor, and Facility Safety Manager. By supervising a diverse workforce of skilled tradesmen, labor foremen, and inmate work crews, you will ensure every project adheres to strict specifications and technical standards. This role requires maintaining the proper care and custody of inmate workers while addressing their needs throughout the workday. Additionally, you will prepare preliminary sketches and research future requirements to estimate budget requests for new construction and nonrecurring maintenance projects. Furthermore, serving as a key advisor to the Superintendent, you will carry out all programs and directions issued from the Superintendent's office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $68,793.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
