Requirements

As a Corrections Employment Vocational Coordinator (CEVC), your primary role will be to facilitate employment and skills development opportunities for inmates within the correctional facility.

This position entails overseeing various aspects of inmate employment, including managing job assignments and coordinating academic or vocational programs that provide compensation to inmates.

You will play a crucial role in identifying job vacancies, conducting interviews, and evaluating inmates prior to their assignment to work details.

Additionally, you will offer vocational counseling aimed at enhancing employment prospects and skill development for the inmates.

Another key responsibility will be to manage and implement the inmate payroll and compensation system, ensuring that all processes are executed efficiently and accurately.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Corrections Employment and Vocational Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of para-professional experience in obtaining and evaluating vocational or employment information; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
