Requirements

As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will provide inmates with training and instruction in the field of electronics. Your responsibilities will involve teaching them the standard practices, methods, and procedures used in the maintenance and repair of various electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices. Your duties will include conducting classroom training and maintaining order and discipline during work assignments. You will also be responsible for keeping documentation of inmate training, progress, attendance, and assignment details. Additionally, you will oversee and direct inmate work crews as they complete electronics work as part of their on-the-job training. Furthermore, you will plan and assign daily schedules for inmates, as well as inspect their completed work assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
